Discovering Your Creative Superpowers
Have you ever looked at a perfectly styled room or scrolled past a genius DIY reel and thought, “I wish I were that creative”? Or maybe you find yourself endlessly watching craft tutorials, pinning beautiful handmade pieces, or signing up for creative classes—but still wondering, "What am I actually good at?"
You're not alone.
So many women pour their time, energy, and hearts into supporting family, building careers, or showing up for others that they rarely pause to ask: What brings ME joy? Often, the clues are already there—hidden in your childhood memories, your favorite pastimes, or even the compliments others give you.
You are creative. You just might not have had the space to discover your spark yet. But it’s there—and today, I’m going to help you find it.
This post is your guide to reconnecting with your creativity, discovering the gifts you might not even realize you have, and learning how to use them in a way that aligns with your purpose.
Whether you're a lifelong maker or just dipping your toe into the DIY world, we all have a creative gift that makes us unique. If you've ever felt drawn to creative work, admired others who "make magic," or wondered what your version of that might be, this post is for you.
What Are Creative Superpowers?
Creative superpowers are those unique talents that make your ideas shine and your projects feel just right. They often show up in ways you don’t expect—like how you organize a party, the way you wrap gifts, how you style a shelf, or how you find the perfect color combos.
These natural tendencies? They're not just "little things"—they're your creative fingerprint.
5 Questions to Help You Discover Yours
What did you love doing as a child?
What activities make you lose track of time?
What have others always admired or complimented you on?
When do you feel most like yourself?
What do you find yourself drawn to (even if you’ve never tried it)?
Jot your answers in a journal or voice note. Look for patterns. Often, our creativity has been there all along—we just haven’t recognized it yet.
Exercises to Reconnect with Your Creativity
Creative Curiosity List: Write down everything you're curious about or have ever wanted to try.
Try Something New Weekly: Pick one new medium or mini DIY project to test out (no pressure to be good at it!).
Creative Journaling: Every morning for one week, write about what inspired you visually or emotionally the day before.
Play Like a Kid: Revisit a childhood activity (coloring, collaging, sewing, clay, etc.) and see what feelings come up.
How to Work With Your Superpowers
Once you start noticing what excites you, it’s time to gently lean into it:
Set aside a weekly creative hour just for YOU.
Take a low-pressure class in something you're drawn to.
Share your progress with a friend or in a safe online space.
Create a small habit around your creativity (like tea, music, and 30 minutes of quiet making).
These moments help reconnect you to yourself—and over time, they build confidence and clarity.
Spotlight: You Might Already Be Using Your Gifts!
You might be the person who always knows how to make a space feel cozy. Or maybe your food spreads are stunning, your handwritten cards are thoughtful, or you naturally organize things beautifully.
These are signs of creative superpowers too. Don’t overlook what comes naturally to you.
Aligning with Purpose Through Creativity
When you discover and use your creative gifts, you begin to live in alignment. Things feel easier, more joyful, more you. And that energy? It’s contagious.
Start small. Keep going. Your creativity can become a daily joy, a hobby, or even a path to purpose and profit.
Try This: Your Creative Discovery Challenge
This week, pick one of the exercises above and dive in. Then, create a "creative reflection board" (digital or physical) with:
Images that inspire you
Words or quotes that resonate
Photos of things you’ve made (even if small!)
Let it remind you: your creativity is real, it's valuable, and it's uniquely yours.
